Project Description

FemLink and Celadon Center for the Arts  hold the project “Arts and Solidarity: Tackling Conflicts through Artistic Feminist Practices and Peaceful Conflict Mediation”. It is a collaborative, horizontal, and participatory project that fosters active participation in peace-building and conflict mediation through creative and artistic practices. The project aims to enhance conflict mediation skills through creative practices, increase the capacity of organisations to apply these skills, and create a practice-based Zine documenting key findings. It seeks to integrate sustainable conflict resolution practices into educational and professional environments, culminating in an interactive online conference to share results and showcase workshop examples.

Within the project, we unite with communities of diverse backgrounds at a five-day Training and Skill Building Laboratory at Kapedes, Cyprus. We invite you to join our exploration of the topic by combining conflict mediation techniques with innovative artistic methods we aim to create a more holistic approach to resolving conflicts. You will complete the training equipped with a diverse set of strategies and tools that you can apply to your own work, empowering you to engage broader audiences in meaningful, transformative ways.

 In this laboratory, you will:

- Join participatory and horizontally to learn from each other and explore conflict mediation through art practices.

- Learn/Expand your knowledge about conflict mediation with innovative tools through artistic practices.

- Contribute your ideas on conflict mediation. The Lab’s program will be shaped by workshops that will draw on all participants practices and methodological input.
